On Remembrance Day I headed over to The Dominion Tavern for a benefit show in support of veterans and their families. On hand to help out were the Sons of Scotland Pipe and Drum Band, Oi! crew Honour Guard and Quiet Crimes. The Sons kicked things off. And since they mostly performed from the floor my photos aren't that great. First, some bagpiping action!
Marching drum action! The band was formed in 1896, which makes it hand's down the longest-running act I've ever photographed.
More percussion!
More piping!
And so on!
Next up, some Oi! style action with Honour Guard ( you may recognize some of them from playing with Ape City when they opened for the U.K. Subs at Targ).
Guitar action!
Bass and guitar action!
More guitar!
Percussive action!
Guarded action!
More percussion!
Rhythm section action!
Quiet Crimes finished the night off - you might well recognize Mike, Tony and Neil from the previous post, where they played as Black Oak Decline at Targ. Quiet Crimes takes a more melodic turn that BOD - think Queens Of The Stone Age (who they covered). Here's Mike!
Rhythm section action!
And so on!
Not very quiet action!
Mike sings!
Tony hits!
And so on!
More Neil!
The whole lot!
And so on!
A good night for a good cause.
