This was a good weekend for fans of Saskatoon's Shooting Guns - the riff-loving soundtrack sages were in town to play two nights at the Mayfair, performing to F.W. Murnau's classic vampire silent Nosferatu. They followed up with a show at Pressed of material from the other albums and soundtracks, along with a preview of material from their upcoming Another Wolf Cop. I didn't take any snaps at the Mayfair for obvious reasons, but I did catch their set at Pressed, where Cardinal Fuzz labelmates The Band Whose Name Is A Symbol opened things up (it was also an album release for Quality Rolls, their new split with Crab Boat). Here's a slightly smoked Bill!
John hits!
Guitar action with Dave!
More Bill!

Trumpet action with Nate!
Even more Dave!

On to Shooting Guns, who played a really crushing set. Here's some guitar action with Christopher!
More guitar and more beard with Keith!
Even more guitar with Zach!

Things ended up with a rousing cover of Hawkwind's Silver Machine with Zach on vocals.
Great stuff all around!
