So I've built up a bit of a backlog in the last couple of months (Exhibit A: Publishing photos of the end of Ottawa Explosion just this week). In order to not get totally bogged down, I'm going to start with some shots from last night at Pressed and save the distant past for later. The Gladstone cafe hosted a trio of Montreal acts, starting with Hi-Way, who some readers might recognize as Charles from Valois - or they might not, since shooting conditions at Pressed were less than ideal.
Guitar action!
Charles is ever fashion-forward.
Closeup action!
On to DF. The duo of Dustin and Dan played a charming show that really wasn't readily photographable, since half of it depended on Dan's DIY light show. Here's Dustin on sax!
You can't really tell, but those symbols on the backdrop light up.
Paper unspooling action!
Bodywash played a fantastic but brief set of jangly indie rock; I'd love to see them back to play a longer set. As is, the crowd got a "greatest hits" edition. Here's guitarist Adam!
A grainy Chris on lead vocals and guitar!
A slightly less grainy Rosie on keys and vocals!
Extra Adam!
Bodily action!
Singalong action!
Austin on drums (unfortunately I just couldn't get a picture of bassist Tom).
A swell set.
