Another year has come to a close, and as the holiday season rolls in, Slo' Tom and associated accomplices roll out the annual Seasons Beatings fiesta. This year (or, I should say, last year since I've procrastinated horribly on posting this, along with being out of town for a week), it was a two-day affair held at the House of Targ. I missed the more countrified Day 1, but made it out for Day 2's metal shenanigans, starting with Blackbread's 1970s-style sonics. Here's Megan and Adam!
Ian on bass.
Paul frets!
More Megan!
More Adam!
Extra Paul!
Extra Ian!
There was also a guest appearance by Michael Caffrey as Santa Clunk 64, playing some festive beats using, among other things, a Commodore 64 for that genuine 2980s feel.
On to more metal with thrashers and bar staffers World War 4/
Pointy action with Blake!
Remi sings!
Michael works the low end.
Leigh hits!
Metalhead action!
Blake frets, Remi drinks!
The shouty bit!
Rhythm section action!
Some interband video action!
Flying Fortress took over from there. The Pembroke duo underwent a temporary lineup change for this show since Steelrider broke his hand, so here's Jordan manning the kit instead..
Brandon sings!
Binary action!
Percussive action!
Hair-flipping action!
Finally, speed metallurgists Chainbreaker made the trip from Toronto for some serious fret-burning action. Here's vocalist Rob!
Rhythm section action with Curtis on bass and Al on drums!
Rob sings!
Extra Al!
Here's Ian Chains (of Cauldron game) putting the Chain in Chainbreaker!
Breaking action!
Closeup action!
And some extra Curtis to round things off.
A fine way to ring in the holidays.
