Okay, what kind of crazies decide to tour Canada in winter. Maybe recent wacky weather in the states has acclimatized the Marylanders in Multicult and Roomrunner to the prospect of snow and ice, because the two acts have made their way from Baltimore to Ottawa for a gig in the prestigious basement of Yips House on Wednesday.
Multicult were on the floor first for some post-punk yawp that put me strongly in mind of Cop Shoot Cop. Here's a fuzzy Rebecca Burchette on bass, drummer Jake Cregger, and guitarist man Nick Skrobisz.
Jake is competing for cymbal height superiority.
Nick sings!
Extra Rebecca!
Downstroking action!
More hitting!
On to Roomrunner, who had a guitar sound oh-so similar to Nirvana's. Here's drummer Brett Lanahan
Dan Frome rocks the low end.
Denny Bowen sings, will trade records for Senators throw rugs!
Guitar action with Jeff Byers!
Fisheye action!
Extra Jeff!
The crowd goes wild!
Bonus Bret!
Crowdsurfing action!
And now on to some real craziness, with Pregnancy Scares!
David hits, Davey strums!
Craig works the crowd.
Extra Davey!
Rhythm section action!
More D&D!
Fisheye action!
Extra Emmanuel!
Craig runs about!
The end!
That was one wild Wednesday.
