November 25 I went off to Mavericks to see super heavy metal combo Red Fang. So did a lot of other folks; the place was quite full. Red Fang have spread their name around with a bunch of amusing videos, and kept people's attention with some kickass rock. They also had a couple of local heavyweights opening things up for them: First, Loviatar.

A shot of Jack
Shot By Jack finished the night off. The Gatineau outfit like a bit of a soul twist on their hardcore, and also threw in a bit of ska.
Rhythm section action with bassist Alex Paquet and drummer Erik Sincennes.
Guitar action with Pascal Crites and singer Eric.
Pascal frets!
The shouty bit!
Extra Eric!
Extra kicking!

Plagued with problems
Up next, Patron Saint of Plagues. I can't really say much about their performance, because just about everything stopped working for them except the drum kit.
A rare, functional moment with guitarist/singer Opi, drummer Dread and bassist Dead Boy.
Deadboy and a soon-to-be-dead bass.
Opi sings! He also did a lot of the sound.
Dread drums!
Faceoff action!
Rhythm section action!
Extra Opi!
A good demonstration of how to muscle your way through total disaster.

Where are they now?
There were several different flavours of rock on display. Lost Youth, as the name might suggest, are punk rock, crust division.
First up, some monitor standing.
Guitar action!
They've had enough lineup changes that I'm not sure who's who, but I believe this is bassist, now vocalist, Frank.
At least drummer James has remained a steady presence.
Audience participation action!
More singalong action!
And so on!
The whole lot!
Jedi action!
The old switcheroo!
Gripping action!
Bass action!
They've recently gigged to raise funds for multiple sclerosis, and have been mastering tracks for an upcoming EP.

Celery men
Next up, the only band I'd actually seen before, just a few months previous, Celery Troff.
Them Troffers!
Rhythm section action!
Aaron sings!
Andrew hits!
Mike's under there somewhere.
Aaron bends!
The whole lot!
The end!
The band plans to release Hind Leg Highness in May.
