There was some rocking action at the House of Targ at the tail end of August, with Onionface headlining the bill. Also on hand, ace 1970s protopunk revivalists Cherry Hooker and new local grunge gang River's End. River's End started things up; unfortunately I was a late arrival and only caught their last two songs. You'll recognize a couple of familiar faces, starting with Ty (also of The Ven Dreddies, Gnarly Brown and Pretty Little Death Machine).
Guitar action!
Sean hits!
Bass action!
Guitar action with Summer (also of Holy Christopher)!
Cherry Hooker really rocked the House with their Stooges-style rock. The glammy quartet not only sounds the part, they look it, too.

Back to the basement
It's been quite a while since I've been to a house show, and I've never been to a show at the Off Peak Green Barn, so this show was a chance to fix both of those problems. Unfortunaetely my camera was acting up. Priors were coming in from Montreal, alongside Dates, with locals The Offers and Deja Vu starting things off. Deja Vu has a couple of folks from the Soft Drugs/Weed Mom nexus. Here's a few Deja Vu-ites, Dimitri, Michael (of several punk bands) and Jacob.
Jacob sings!
Zoey sings, Jen works the keys!
The whole lot!
And so on!
The Offers cranked out some Twin/Tone styled sounds. Here's Seiji!
Rhythm section action with Tim and Davey!
Extra Tim!
Davey sings!
More Seiji!
Offered action!
Even more Tim!
On to Dates, who played a great set of in-your-face rock. Here's Amelie and Iso!
Thankful action with Eliane!
Singalong action!
Mark frets!
Guitar action!
The whole lot!
The Priors tore through a brief set - they were born to play basements.
Colourful shirt action!
There's just something about that wall panelling!
Prioritized action!
Gripping action!
Chance works the floor!
The end!
A fine night out.
